For nearly 71 years, the Francis family has been involved in philanthropy and made large investments in the Greater Kansas City area in education and arts and culture, and across the country in pulmonary research. The Francis Family Foundation has been honored to partner with all the dedicated nonprofit organizations that serve our community.
In 2022, the Foundation structure transitioned from a community board to a family board, and the granting priorities and strategies changed with this transition. The future of grantmaking by the family is still under discussion but grants to the pulmonary fellowship program and the small arts grants fund will continue. The family and board have valued their long relationship with our grantee partners. The three years of bridge funding provided for current grantees ended in 2022.
