EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BIO

Former Jackson County CASA Executive Director Jim Koeneman was recently named Executive Director of the Francis Family Foundation. Koeneman brings more than 25 years experience working in the area of human services to the table, including time as a senior program officer for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and 15 years managing a wide range of Missouri state government programs. It was Koeneman’s early government career, where he spent a significant amount of time analyzing policy for a broad range of programs from income maintenance to child welfare services, that gave him the passion to work in the philanthropic community. After working in the area of comprehensive neighborhood development strategies at the Kauffman Foundation, Koeneman took the reins as executive director for Jackson County CASA in Kansas City, Missouri, in November 2003.  During his tenure, the program increased recruitment of volunteers more than 300 percent and reestablished a solid financial footing on which to build future program growth. Koeneman officially begins his new position as Executive Director of the Francis Family Foundation on August 1, 2006. He currently lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with his wife Kathy.
